ELMIRA, N.Y. - Amanda Case figured in four goals and Lindsay Bronnenkant figured in two as the field hockey team rolled past Elmira, 5-1.
Lara Bucarey and Valerie Lazickas scored solo goals for the Yellowjackets who improved to 2-1. Elmira is 1-1.
Bronnenkant fed Case for the opening goal with 19:40 left in the first half. With 8:50 left, Case scoerd an unassisted goal for a 2-0 lead. It was 3-0 at halftime (3:43 left on the goal) after Case set up Bronnenkant.
Elmira's Jennifer Heydt steered the ball past Rachel Cahan with 24:30 left in the match, cutting the Yellowjacket lead to 3-1. Rochester kept pressing. Lazickas scored off a pass from Case for a 4-1 lead with 19:54 left. Bucarey completed the scoring with 9:34 remaining.
Cahan made six saves and allowed one goal in 51:53. She was replaced by Robin Levy who played the fina; 18:07 and was not required to make a save.
