POTSDAM, N.Y. - An early goal and strong play throughout carried the men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Clarkson University on Saturday.

Sean Hantes, who scored a dramatic tying goal in the dying minutes on Friday to tie 23rd-ranked St. Lawrence, found the back of the net early in the match this time. He took a pass from Nick Mikolenko in the penalty area and redirected it past the Clarkson goalkeeper.

Paco Corbalan made two saves - both in the second half as the Golden Knights stepped up the tempo - and earned the shutout.

Clarkson had beaten 15th-ranked SUNY Geneseo on Friday.

Rochester is 2-1-1.
