BRONX, N.Y. - Scott Cady's first appearance since opening day became a memorable one as Rochester defeated NYU, 1-0, in men's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
Cady scored his first goal of the season with just under nine minutes to play and the Yellowjackets won their second straight UAA game. Cady turned home a corner kick from Phil Proud for the gamewinner. He left Rochester's opening night game vs. Oswego with an injury and had been sidelined until his appearance vs. NYU.
Michael Peacock made two saves for his fifth solo shutout this season. NYU outshot Rochester, 11-8, and held a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks. Marek Urbanski made three saves in goal for the Violets and the NYU defense cleared a ball off the line.
Rochester improved to 8-1-2 overall, 2-0 in the UAA. NYU is 4-4-3 overall, 0-2 in the UAA.
