BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Brockport scored 1:14 into sudden death overtime on Thursday to hand the Yellowjackets a 2-1 field hockey loss.
It was the second consecutive 2-1 loss in OT for Rochester. The Yellowjackets were edged by St. Lawrence University on Sunday afternoon at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
This match was delayed one day due to the inclement weather on Wednesday. The teams played in sunny conidtions on Thursday.
Erica Gelb scored her fourth goal of the season late in the first half when she knocked home a rebound after Brockport's Jessica James made a defensive save. The goal came at 29:07.
It took the Golden Eagles two minutes to get even. Amanda Pickard's penalty corner was steered home by Kelly Henry at 31:20.
Brockport won it at 71:14. Rochester goaltender Danielle Pearson made a save before Brockport's Allyson Granish knocked in the gamewinning rebound.
Pearson finished with 18 saves. Brockport held a 25-9 shot advantage, 20-6 in shots on goal. Jen Allen made five saves for the Golden Eagles.
Both teams are 11-7. Rochester wraps up its 2008 season on Sunday at 5 pm when the Yellowjackets host SUNY Oneonta.
