WASHINGTON, Pa. – Rochester used goals from three different players to capture its eighth victory of the season and second win on the road.
The Yellowjackets defeated Washington & Jefferson College, 3-0, to improve to 8-4, 2-3 away from Fauver Stadium. The Presidents are 6-5.
Allison Beardsley scored just 3:36 into the match. It was her fifth goal of the season and second game-winning goal. The lead doubled six minutes into the second half. Erica Gelb played a penalty corner out to Christi Bottcher and she whistled her seventh goal of the year into the cage at 40:57.
Continual Rochester pressure late in the match produced the third goal with two seconds left to play. Lara Bucarey took a shot that was saved by W&J goaltender Shelby Colyer. The rebound fell to Bucarey and she swept it into the cage at 69:58. It was her sixth goal of the season.
Rochester held an 11-6 edge in shots. W&J had six penalty corners to Rochester's three.
The Yellowjackets play at Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday.
