Rochester scored in the first minute of play and went on to a 5-0 victory over Case Western Reserve in a women's UAA soccer match at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
Ellen Coleman drove a ball from left wing off the right post and in, just 52 seconds into the match. Coleman made it 2-0 at 31:38, hitting a 15-yarder from the right side.
Bridgette Varin increased the lead to 3-0, driving home passes from Laura Bojko and Kirsten Ross at 59:20. Ross scored at 71:49 from 25 yards away, and Mae Butler completed the scoring at 80:35 with a 35-yard shot.
Rochester held a 19-3 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. Celeste Hornbach played all 90 minutes. She made one save. For Case, Kirsten McClain played the first 75:41. She made four saves and allowed four goals. Anna Kennedy played the final 14:19. She allowed one goal. The Spartans also cleared two balls off the line.
The Yellowjackets finished the regular season at 11-5-2, 3-4 in the UAA. Case finished 8-11 overall, 0-7 in the UAA.
