GETTYSBURG, Pa - Rochester's offense found its flow, but the Yellowjackets had to settle for a 1-1 double overtime tie at Gettysburg College on Sunday afternoon.
The Yellowjackets surrendered an early goal – less than two minutes into the match – then bounced back to dominate. Gettysburg, which defeated Eastern Mennonite to open its season on Saturday, earned a corner kick. Lauren Johnson played it out of the corner to Sara Montague who headed it farther in front of goal and Sarah Yeager knocked it home at 1:48.
Rochester pressed continually and earned the equalizer at 18:36. Ellen Coleman, who set up the season's first goal (in Saturday's loss at #2 Messiah), sent the ball from the middle into the left side of the area. Laura Bojko ran onto the pass and drilled it past Danielle St. Pierre at 18:36.
The Yellowjackets held a 32-7 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge on corner kicks. Celeste Hornbach earned the tie. She made two saves. St. Pierre had six saves for the Bullets.
