Jessica Smith scored twice in less than two minutes of the first half as Rochester pulled away from St. John Fisher for a 5-0 women's soccer victory at Fauver Stadium.
Ellen Coleman, Mae Butler, and Brittany Huber scored the other Yellowjacket goals. Laura Bojko, Sara Goico, Bridgette Varin, Butler, and Smith had assists.
Celeste Hornbach played the first 45 minutes in goal for Rochester. She made three saves. Shannon Alderfer played the second 45 minutes. She was not required to make a save.
Rochester outshot the Cardinals, 24-5 and had 11 corner kicks to none for Fisher. The Yellowjackets hit the post once (by Erin Carballo) and two other shots were cleared off the line by Fisher defenders. Ashley Martin had nine saves in goal for the Cardinals.
Coleman put Rochester ahead to stay at 8:16, driving home a left wing cross from Bojko. Four minutes later, Varin played the ball from the right corner to the top of the box, 15 yards off the sideline. Goico chipped it into the goalmouth and Butler headed it into the left side of the net.
At 34:27, Smith scored her opener, evading a defender at the penalty arc and pulling the ball into the low left corner. At 36:10, she headed home Butler's corner kick for a 4-0 lead.
Huber's goal came at 58:01. Smith came down the middle of the field, pushed the ball out to the right, and Huber floated a 25-yarder over Martin's head and just under the crossbar.
Rochester is 6-1-2 overall, ranked No. 16 in the current Division III poll. St. John Fisher is 2-7.
