Serle hit a three-point goal with just under three minutes to play to get Rochester even at 69-all. After Case edged ahead on a three-pointer by Kevin Herring with 1:41 to go, Chmielowiec sank two free throws with 1:26 to go, making it a one-point deficit (72-71).

Alex Hildebrandt's layup and free throw put Case ahead, 75-71 with 1:06 to go. Chmielowiec's three-pointer from the top of the key pulled Rochester within 75-74 with 57 seconds to play.

Marcus Roberson rebounded a missed layup by Hildebrandt with less than 25 seconds remaining. Serle hit a running hook in the lane with 0:13.8 left, putting Rochester ahead for the first time since early in the game (76-75).

Roberson rebounded another miss, this one when Herring's runner rolled off the rim with 4.9 seconds left. He was fouled immediately and made both free throws, pushing the lead to 78-75.

Case's final pass to midcourt was intercepted by Max Kaplan and the Yellowjackets held the ball as the clock ran out.
