WALTHAM, Mass - Kirsten Ross scored early in the first half and the defense made it stand up for a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Brandeis on Saturday evening.
Rochester boosted its winning streak to five, all by shutout. The Yellowjackets are ranked 23rd in the NSCAA Division III Coaches Poll and 21st in the D3Soccer.com poll. Rochester is 8-1-2 overall, 2-0 in the University Athletic Association.
Brandeis turned the ball over in its defensive zone in the 15th minute and the Yellowjackets capitalized. Ellen Coleman got it to Ross who scored at 14:16.
Celeste Hornbach made six saves to pick up the shutout. It's her fourth solo shutout this year. Hillary Rosenzweig made six saves for the Judges. Brandeis is 6-4-2 overall, 0-2-0 in the UAA.
