Men Finish Second at NYSCTC XC Meet

With three runners in the top seven finishers, the University of Rochester finished second at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championships.

Rochester totaled 51 points. St. Lawrence won the team title with 28 points. Ithaca was third with 80 points, RPI fourth with 116, and Hamilton fifth with 137. The field was completed by RIT (165), Nazareth (195), Union (215), Alfred (256), and Hartwick (314).

Dan Ramsey (25:35.09) and Jeremy Mwenda (25:39.03) of SLU were the top two finishers. Brian Lang of Rochester was third in 25:41.23. The times of the top three finishers were good enough to make the list of Top 50 Times for the 8K course at Genesee Valley Park.

James Vavra finished fifth for the Yellowjackets (26:23.81). Jon Pinto was seventh overall (26:26.23). Dan Lane ran a 26:54.36 race to finish 13th. Jason Zayac was 23rd in 27:28.35.

The displacers were Justin Roncaioli (28:05.36 – 35th) and Tyle Stelzig (28:06.78 – 37th). Rochester runs in the University Athletic Association championships next week at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
