Men Are Third Overall at Geneseo Invite

With all five runners finishing in the top 21, the University of Rochester men's cross country team finished third overall at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational.

Rochester totaled 74 points, nine shy of matching RIT, and ahead of 21 other institutions. A total of 283 runners competed in the race.

Brian Lang was at the top of the pack, fourth overall, in 25:34.9. Craig Baumgartner was second for the Yellowjackets in 26:17.6 (14th overall). Jon Pinto ran a 26:18.5 to finish third (17th overall). James Vavra was fourth (18th overall) in 26:19.5, and Dan Lane was clocked in 26:22.4 to finish 21st.

The displacers were Jason Zayach (26:54.4) in 27th place and Jacob Tutmaher (27:23.8) in 39th place.

SUNY Geneseo will host the 2009 NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship in November on the same course - Letchworth State Park.
