Men Third Overall at UB XC Invite

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Rochester's men's cross country team ran a strong race on Saturday at the Division I-laden UBuffalo Stampede and nearly won the team title.

The Yellowjackets totaled 64 points, finishing behind Akron (58) and host UBuffalo (59), but ahead of two other Division Is, an NAIA school, one alumni team, two club teams, and another Division III squad.

Brian Lang was third overall in a time of 25:50. He finished behind a Division I runner and a Division I alumnus (winning time was 25:29).

Rochester placed four more in the top 19. The next Division III runner to cross the finish line came in 30th.

Dan Lane was 13th overall in 26:23. James Vavra was 14th in 26:31. Jon Pinto was 15th in 26:32, and Craig Baumgartner completed Rochester's top five in 26:34.

The Yellowjacket displacers were Jason Zayac (34th, scored in 32nd place in 27:15) and Jacob Tutmaher (40/37, 27:32).
