PITTSBURGH, Pa - Jakob Seidlitz and Steve Welles scored in the last 10 minutes as Rochester rallied for a 2-1 victory over Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday afternoon.
The goals came after a tremendous offensive surge by the Yellowjackets who fell behind 1-0 in the 74th minute. Rochester earned its second UAA win of the season (2-2-2) and improved to 9-2-5 overall.
Seidlitz got the equalizer, driving home a free kick at 80:26. Rochester continued to press, forcing several saves in a sequence by CMU goalkeeper Zach Stahl. At 84:40, Chris Blivin got the ball to Welles and he drove it hard and low into the left corner of the goal, putting Rochester in front.
Mike Moranz made two saves in goal for Rochester. CMU attempted four shots. Stahl made eight saves on 18 Yellowjacket shots.
Carnegie played the last 10-plus minutes a man down after a red card was issued.
