PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Kirsten Ross and Ellen Coleman scored seven minutes apart midway through the second half as Rochester rallied to defeat Nazareth College, 2-1.
The Yellowjackets battled back after conceding a goal to Nazareth with 30 seconds left in the first half. Rochester improved to 7-2-1 overall. Nazareth is 6-5.
Bridget Lang made eight saves in the Rochester goal. Hillary Simon made seven saves for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers took a 1-0 lead at 44:34. Julian Teran Pulford's corner kick was bandied about the box and finally knocked in by Kaylee Benz.
Rochester got even at 63:30. The Yellowjackets were awarded a penalty kick when Bridget Varin was pulled down in the area. Ross slotted the penalty to tie it at 1-1.
Just over seven minutes later, the Yellowjackets scored off a counter attack. Meaghan Magee took possession of the ball and got it to Ross. She turned and found Varin rushing upfield. Varin carried it, then laid it off to Coleman down the left sideline. She broke past opponents and lined it into the left side of the net from just outside the area. It was her 10th goal of the season and her 30th career goal.
