ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - Some early misplays led to six unearned runs and Washington University defeated the University of Rochester, 8-2, at the UAA Championships.

The Bears scored two in the second, three in the third, and three in the fourth. Madeline Skellie, who started, allowed one hit, walked two, and struck out one in 2.1 innings. She was tagged with the loss. She allowed one earned run, four overall. Sara Hutchinson worked 3.2 innings, yielding six hits, four runs (one earned), walked one, and struck out four.

For the Yellojwackets, Katie McLean had two hits and scored one run. Erin Clark and Nikki Lee DiSalvio had two hits each and each drove in one run.
