CLERMONT, Fla. - The College of New Jersey rallied for six runs in the fifth inning and went on to an 8-3 win over Rochester at the NTC Games on Sunday.
Rochester held a 2-0 lead into the fifth before the Lions took advantage of a couple of hits and a pair of Rochester misplays to take the lead for good.
Sara Hutchinson and Maddie Skellie combined for nine strikeouts for the Yellowjackets. Hutchinson struck out six and Skellie fanned three.
Lindsay Macaluso was 3-for-4, including a triple for Rochester. Erin Clark was 2-for-2 with a single and an RBI triple. Kim Grimes doubled.
Rochester is 1-2. The Yellowjackets will compete in the UAA Championships in Altamonte Springs begining on Tuesday.
