Women's Soccer Defeats Brockport, 6-1



Ellen Coleman scored two goals and assisted on a third as the University of Rochester defeated visiting Brockport at Edwin Fauver Stadium Wednesday night.

Bridgette Varin, Heather Alico, Elizabeth Martens, and Brittany Huber scored the other Yellowjacket goals.

The Brockport goal was a self-goal, scored in the 10th minute. Courtney Belding chipped tghe ball from the edge of the area. It deflected off a Rochester fullback and into the top left side of the net.

Coleman set up Variun at 3:10. The own goal tied it. Coleman broke the tie at 18:40, chipping in a long ball from Alina Wayland. Alico closed the first half scoring (3-1) at 36:06. Coleman and Martens scored less than a minute apart early in the second half. Huber finished the scoring with a 35-yard solo run with less than 24 minutes to play.
