GENEVA, N.Y. - William Smith College scored two goals in the first six minutes and went on to a 3-1 field hockey victory over the University of Rochester on Wednesday night.

Emily Atwan put the hosts ahead at 4:31 by turning home a pass from Kiersten Hamilkton. Annie Kietzen made it 2-0 at 5:27 with Sara Gall picking up the assist.
Rochester cut the lead in half just before halftime. Darragh Kerr took a penalty corner and played the ball to Allison Beardsley. Her shot from the top of the circle eluded Herons' goaltender Taryn Little at 32:08.
William Smith got the goal back at48:47 when Hamilton scored an unassisted goal.
Madison Wagner made a career high 18 saves for the Yellowjackets. Little had one save.
