Bridget Lang made 11 saves in the first 76 minutes and the University of Rochester shut out St. John Fisher College, 2-0 at Growney Stadium.
Allison Bernstein played the final 14:18 in goal for the Yellowjackets and was not required to make a save. Rochester improved to 8-5 overall. St. John Fisher is 7-7.
Rochester took a 1-0 lead before the match was nine minutes old.
Danielle Crean floated a ball into the box and
Katie Sappio scored on the far post at 8:44. Midway through the second half, the Yellowjackets made it 2-0.
Ellen Coleman put a ball through to
Elizabeth Martens and she drove it into the corner at 63:50.
The point on the assist for Coleman gave her sole possession of the career point scoring lead at Rochester. She has 110 points, one ahead of Allison Collins '04.
Rochester outshot the Cardinals, 21-14 and held a 9-5 advantage on corner kicks. Noel Peck played the first 22:17 in goal for Fisher. She made three saves and allowed one goal. Jessica Plukas played the final 67:43. She made seven saves and allowed one goal.
