WOOSTER, OHIO –
Anna Dobrzynski scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the University of Rochester to a 5-1 field hockey victory over The College of Wooster.
Katie Flashner,
Alexis Vangellow, and
Allison Beardsley each had single goals for UR (6-1). Beardsley and
Shelby Hall had one assist apiece.
Madison Wagner made five saves for the win. For Wooster, Liz Plumley made three saves and allowed two first half goals. Madalyn Myers allowed three goals and made five saves in the second half. Anna Divis scored the goal for the Fighting Scots (3-3).
Dobrzynski scored in the eighth minute, then set up Flashner for a 2-0 lead four minutes later. Beardsley's pass to Vangellow made it 3-0 in the 46th minute. Divis pulled back a goal in the 48th minute. Dobrzynski scored, then set up Beardsley in a 10-minute stretch late in the game to clinch it.
The Rochester victory came one day after the Yellowjackets won, 5-0, at Kenyon College. UR has scored 19 goals in its last three games and has 32 goals in seven games thus far. Dobrzynski (9 goals, 3 assists) and Beardsley (6 goals, 9 assists) are tied for the individual scoring lead with 21 points apiece.
