SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Fifth-ranked Skidmore College broke open a tight match early in the second half and went on to a 7-0 victory over Rochester on Saturday.
The Thoroughbreds scored three times in the first 16 minutes of the second half and stretched a 2-0 lead to 5-0. Lauren Tobias scored three goals for Skidmore.
Rochester goaltender Madison Wagner made a dozen saves and the Yellowjackets had one defensive save. Skidmore held a 29-4 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge on penalty corners.
The Yellowjackets are 6-3 overall, 0-2 in the Liberty League. Rochester plays at Utica on Wednesday, at Morrisville next Saturday, and returns to Fauver Stadium to host Washington & Jefferson College next Sunday.
Skidmore is 8-0 overall, 3-0 in the Liberty League. The Thoroughbreds have won 23 straight regular season games, won 24 in a row at home, and won 17 straight in Liberty League play.
