Visiting Buffalo State College won all three of its matches by a combined total of seven points to defeat Rochester, 3-1, in women's volleyball at the Palestra on Tuesday evening.
The Bengals (7-3) won the first two sets, 30-28 and 25-23. Rochester rallied for a 25-20 victory in the third set before Buffalo State won the final set, 25-22. Rochester is 6-3.
Kelly Mulrey led Rochester with 15 kills.
Alma Guevara had 12 kills,
Savannah Benton had 11, and
Sara Ribakove had nine.
Xiaoyi Li had 45 assists.
The dig leaders were
Lauren Bujnicki and Mulrey with 32 apiece. Benton had five block assists.
Meghan Neff had three block assists as did Ribakove.
Rochester will play in the RIT Invitational this coming weekend and return to the Palestra on September 18 to host RIT.
