HENRIETTA, N.Y. – Rochester dropped a 3-0 decision to SUNY Fredonia, then was nipped by Keuka College, 3-2, in the second day of play at the RIT Invitational. The Yellowjackets are 3-10 overall. Fredonia improved to 7-4 with its win and Keuka stood at 5-4.
Anna MacDonald had eight blocks in the Keuka match, four solo and four block assists. Jennie Ford had a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs. Savannah Benton had 11 kills. Paige Idziur had 25 digs, Meghan Connor had 13. Xiaoyi Li registered 38 assists.
The Keuka match was back and forth. Rochester won the first (25-19) and third (27-25) sets, Keuka the second (25-23) and fourth (25-22) to force the fifth set. The Storm posted a 15-12 win in the fifth set to take home the victory.
In the morning, the Yellowjackets played Fredonia for the second time this season. The same two teams met in the Cortland Red Dragon Invitational on Labor Day Weekend. Fredonia won this matchup, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.
Ford finished with 12 kills and 19 digs. Aimee Kohler had six kills. Li compiled 24 assists, and Idziur had 12 digs.
Rochester plays in the Elizabethtown Tournament next weekend.
