PITTSFORD, N.Y. –
Kathryn Rowe converted a penalty kick with just over 11 minutes remaining to snap a 1-1 tie and give Rochester a 2-1 victory over St. John Fisher College in women's soccer at Growney Stadium.
The win boosted Rochester's record to 4-3-1 overall and snapped a four-match winless streak. Fiswher fell to 3-6.
Rochester opened the scoring at 19:12 when
Jessica Smith scored on a breakaway. It was Smith's eighth goal of the season. Fisher evened the score before halftime. Alex Rohloff scored her fifth goal of the year at 38:31.
Rowe's goal, her first of the season, came at 78:25.
Rochester held a slim 9-7 lead in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
Aubrey Jaicks earned the win in goal for Rochester. She was not required to make a save and played the final 51:29.
Allison Bernstein started. She made one save, then came out after the Rohloff goal. Brooke Seavitt made three saves in 90 minutes and allowed two goals for the Cardinals.
