'Jackets Topped by Case, 3-0, at UAA Round Robin

ATLANTA - Rochester hit well in the second game of three against Case Western Reserve, but the Yellowjackets fell, 3-0, to the Spartans. Case won, 25-15, 25-22,25-18. The CWRU sweep left Rochester with an 0-3 record in the first round robin.

Number two is two weeks away at Washington when the Yellowjackets will face Chicago, NYU, Washington, and Brandeis.Results in the two round robins establish seedings and pairings for the UAA Championships in early Novembe at Carnegie Mellon.

Emma Gira and Nina Baek were the kill leaders against the Spartans onn Sunday. Gira had eight kills and Baek added seven. Jennie Ford had four kills and 13 digs. Xiaoyi Li had 11 digs and 26 assists. Ashley Hunter had 20 digs and four assists.

Shira Katz and Baek supplied two service aces apiece.

Rochester is 9-12 overall, 0-3 in the UAA. Case is 11-7 overall, 1-2 in the UAA. The Yellowjackets return to the Palestra this week to take on Nazareth on Wednesday and RIT on Friday. That will be Senior Night. Both matches will start at 7 pm.
