UR Sweeps RIT to Finish 10-2 in Liberty Lg.



HENRIETTA, NY – Rochester totaled 21 runs, 29 hits, and 20 RBIs as the Yellowjackets swept a softball doubleheader at RIT by scores of 14-0 and 7-2.
 
The sweep gives Rochester an overall record of 20-10, 10-2 in the Liberty League. RIT is 4-26 overall, 2-10 in the Liberty League.
 
Rochester compiled 17 hits in the opener which was halted after five innings. The Yellowjackets scored in each of the first four innings. Lauren Muni was the top run producer. She was 3-4 with one run scored and five RBIs. Nine Korn had three RBIs and scored twice (1-3 at the plate). Tayler Fravel and Meg Hennessy were each 4-4. Fravel scored four runs and Hennessy scored three times.
 
Brittany Grage pitched a two-hitter with one walk and 10 strikeouts to get the victory.
 
In game two, Korn was 3-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. She doubled home a run in the first, then led off the fifth inning with her eighth home run of the season. That sparked a three-run rally after RIT had cut a 4-0 deficit in half in the bottom of the fourth.
 
Tiffany White was 2-2 and the only other player besides Korn withmore than one hit in the nitecap. The Yellowjackets produced 12 base hits. Eleni Wechsler went the distance to earn her 10th win of the season. She scattered five hits, allowed two runs, walked two, and struck out two.
 
The Liberty League office will announce its four playoff participants and the host school on Monday. The top-seeded team will host the double-elimination event beginning on Thursday.
