Callie Fisher scored two goals and
Gina Cunningham had one as the University of Rochester held off SUNY New Paltz, 3-2, Â to win its seven straight field hockey match.

The Yellowjackets (7-0) scored two goals just 61 seconds apart early in the first half. Fisher collected a pass from
Sayaka Abe on the left side of the circle and fired it past Alayne Wegeman at 6:17. Cunningham made it 2-0 at 7:17 when she tipped in the ball from close range, assisted by
Megan Keil.

New Paltz fought back, cutting the lead in half on a backhander by Erin Landy in traffic after a multitude of shots. Fisher notched her second of the day – and fifth of the season – when she scored from a rebound at 65:40.

That proved to be the gamewinner because Deirdre O'Neill tipped in a shot from a penalty corner with Kayla McKeveny picking up the assist at 68:03. New Paltz pressed, but could not find the equalizer.

Tara Lamberti made seven saves for Rochester. Wegeman made seven saves for New Paltz.
