Rochester lost a pair of 3-1 decisions at the UR Volleyball Invitational on Friday evening. The Yellowjackets won their first set against SUNY Oswego, 25-19, but then lost three in a row - 25-23, 25-18, 25-16 to the Lakers. In the second match, Hamilton edged UR, 25-23, in the first set, won 25-20 in the second set, and 25-19 in the fourth set. Rochester forced a fourth set by winning 25-19, in set three.
Against Oswego,
Jennie Ford had 11 kills, six service aces, and 16 digs.
Emma Gira had 13 kills.
Shira Katz had six kills.
Ashley Hunter had 13 digs,
Meghan Connor had 11, and
Aimee Kohler had 10.
Xiaoyi Li had 32 assists.
The kill leader against Hamilton was
Nina Baek with 14. Ford had 10 kills and 10 digs. Connor had 16 digs, Hunter had 12, Kohler had 11 and four aces. Li registered 26 assists and Kohler produced 14 assists.
Rochester is 1-5 through Friday. The Yellowjackets will play Sage College (at 1 pm) and Elmira College (at 3 pm) on Saturday.
