PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Alexandra Goldman broke one single-match blocking record and tied anothe in Rochester's 3-1 loss to Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday at the New York Regional Challenge hosted by Nazareth College.

The Yellowjackets lost, 18-25, 25-20, 17-25, 21-25 to Stevens. The loss evened Rochester's record at 14-14 heading into a later evening match against SUNY Fredonia.. Stevens Tech boosted its record to 17-10 with the win.

Goldman had seven solo blocks and four block assists. The seven solo blocks nearly doubled the Rochester match record of four – held by three people and done four times. Dana Hilfinger did it twice in 2006. Meghan Neff did it in 2012, and Anna MacDonald did it in 2013.

The 11 total blocks equaled the school mark set by Alma Guevara in 2012 against Medaille College. Guevara had one block solo and 10 block assists.

Goldman also had three kills and one assist. Aimee Kohler had two blocks for Rochester as did Kayla Sell. Kohler added 32 assists and 13 digs.

Meghan Connor had 20 digs and one service ace. Nina Baek had 10 digs, one ace, and three kills. Emma Gira had 10 kills and one assist. Jennie Ford had 14 kills, one ace, and 10 digs.

Rochester wraps up its participation in the NY Regional Challenge against Montclair State University at 2:30 pm Saturday.
