Box Score SANFORD, FL – Rochester fell behind, 5-0, after two innings on Monday morning and wound up dropping a 7-2 decision to Washington University in the UAA Championship Tournament.

Josh Ludwig and Brendan Garry were the run-producers for the Yellowjackets (1-1, 1-1 UAA). With Rochester down, 6-0, heading into the bottom of the third, the Yellowjackets drew a two-out walk and Ludwig rapped an RBI double to put Rochester on the scoreboard.

Washington (2-2, 1-1 UAA) tacked on another run in the top of the fifth to make the score 7-1. Garry hit his first home run of the spring leading off the bottom of the ninth for Rochester.
Dan Warren took the loss for Rochester, giving up six runs (5 earned) and nine hits in three innings. Luke Meyerson, Michael Lee and Grant Petito combined to allow six hits and one run over the games final six innings.
Kunal Patel was impressive on the mound for Washington. He allowed just 2 hits, 1 run and 4 walks while striking out 4 in eight innings of work, picking up his first win of the year.

The Yellowjackets will see the Bears again. The teams play the second game of their series on Saturday at 2 pm. Rochester will play NYU on Tuesday at 11 am. The Violets are a first-year program in the NCAA.
