Â
Tara Lamberti made five saves in goal for Rochester and Kathryn Montgomery had a defensive save early in the second half. For New Paltz, Alayna Wageman made six saves.
Â
Rochester's defensive effort played a major role in the victory. The Yellowjackets did a good job poking the ball free in the circle and cutting off pathways to the goal.
Â
Adar scored her first goal 6:27 into the match. After a penalty corner, the ball was bandied around in the box. She got to it and tapped it into the left hand corner from four yards out.

Â
Two minutes later, Rochester doubled its lead. The ball was obtained in the defensive third and played out to Claire Dickerson on the right side. She ran for 60 yards, then cut into the box. Wageman came out to challenge. Dickerson pushed the ball across the front of the goal and Adar tucked it inside the left corner at 21:35.
Â
Relin netted the third goal just before halftime. She recovered the ball deep on left wing, evaded a defender and whipped a shot inside the near post at 34:02.
Â
New Paltz had the better of the offensive play in the second half. The Hawks pushed forward in search of goals that might change the momentum. Six minutes into the half, Erin Landy fired from right wing. Lamberti blocked it, but the ball got past her. Montgomery was in position on the right post to knock it away.
Â
The Hawks scored their goal at 54:46. Landy hit a long drive from right wing, well outside the circle. The ball struck the left post and Rachel McLaughlin tipped it in.
