PITTSFORD, NY – With five players producing points - two multi-goal scorers and a third with three assists – Rochester posted its third straight field hockey win, this one a 6-1 triumph at St. John Fisher College.

Nicole Cerza had a hat trick while Claire Dickerson added two goals. Michelle Relin figured in three scores, assisting each time. Rochester improved to 8-2 overall. Fisher is 6-3 after the loss.

Cerza had a hat trick.Alexis Wood added a single goal while Olivia Denny picked up one assist. Â In the cage, Tara Lamberti registered five saves and allowed one goal.

Cerza and Dickerson scored just two minutes apart in the first half as the Yellowjackets seized command. Cerza blasted a shot from the left side for a 1-0 lead at 6:01. Dickerson then finished off a Denny pass at 8:04 for a 2-0 lead.

It went to 3-0 before the half. Relin weaved through the Cardinal defense and got the ball on Cerza's stick midway through the period for the three-goal lead.

Early in the second half (39:36), Dickerson bounced in her second goal of the evening. Cerza notched the hat trick, with Relin picking up the assist, at 58:10, deflecting the pass home.

St. John Fisher got on the scoreboard at 66:31. Keeley Samsonik played a penalty corner to Nicole Morgan and she ripped a hard drive past Lamberti, cutting the margin to 5-1.

With four seconds to go, Relin hit a deep shot that was tipped in by Alexis Wood for the 6-1 final.
Rochester returns to action this Saturday when it plays host to SUNY Cortland at 1 pm at Fauver Stadium.
