FAUVER STADIUM – Haili Adams chipped home a long feed from midfield to give visiting Carnegie Mellon University a 2-1 overtime victory over the University of Rochester on Friday evening.

The Tartans improved to 8-3-1 overall, 2-1 in the University Athletic Association. Rochester is 2-6-4, 1-2 in the UAA. On Sunday, CMU plays Emory in Atlanta while Rochester hosts Case Western Reserve.

Rochester held off constant pressure from Carnegie Mellon for much of the match. Goalkeeper
Madilynne Lee made nine saves and
Alyssa Raskind cleared a ball off the line at the left post when it got past Lee.

CMU held a 24-6 edge in shots and a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks, but the Yellowjackets survived – blocking shots, Lee making save after save.

UR took a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute.
McKenzie Runyan turned at the top of the penalty arc and shot. CMU keeper Mia Keyser deflected the ball into the right post. It rolled tantalizingly across the goalline.
Jean Chakmakas got to it first and rapped it into the net, putting the Yellowjackets ahead.

CMU got even with just over 18 minutes left. Sydney Webber pushed the ball to Katja Brackelmanns-Puig at a deep angle in the left side of the box. She hit a rising shot that flew just under the crossbar, tying the score.

Midway through the first OT, Amelia Clark struck a long ball down the middle from her defensive half. It sent Adams in alone. Lee tried to challenge, rushing out and diving, hoping to block a low shot. Adams chipped it over her and into the open net at 95:18.
