Â

Beam made a couple of strong saves, particularly in the second half when the Yellowajckets tried lofted shots. Her defenders, including Autumn Swavely, Ryenn Sanger, and Kelsey Devine played very well in blocking Rochester's chances to shoot.
Â
Rochester took a 1-0 lead at 12:10. Abe dribbled up the center of the pitch and passed to Bansbach a step or two inside the circle. She swept the ball into the low right corner.
Â
The Yellowjackets didn't get their second goal until the closing minutes of the first half. Dow worked along the right side and got the ball to Fisher who squeezed a shot between Beam and the right post. It rolled along the goalline before finally trickling in at 33:41.
Â
Guido scored the third goal off a rebound. Coming out of a penalty corner, Fisher unleashed a hard shot just inside the circle. The ball was saved by Beam but Guido was able to tuck in the rebound.
Â
Both teams play in Central New York on Saturday. Rochester goes to Oneonta State while Brockport visits Hartwick. The Yellowjackets will play their next four on the road – and five of the next six. Rochester will host St. John Fisher on October 4. When that lengthy 'road trip' concludes, Rochester plays six of its last seven in Fauver Stadium.
