HENRIETTA, N.Y. – Host RIT jumped ahead early and went on to a 3-1 women's soccer victory over the University of Rochester at Tiger Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers scored two goals before the match was 12 minutes old. They added a third tally midway through the first half.

Annie McEachron scored the Rochester goal just before halftime – at 44:27.
Makena Dougherty lofted a pass that McEachron headed into the net beyond the reach of RIT goalkeeper Kelly Rogers. She had one save.
Emma Campbell made five saves for Rochester. The Yellowjackets are 6-7-1 overall. Rochester is idle until October 27 when the Yellowjackets play at Case Western Reserve University in a resumption of the University Athletic Association schedule. RIT is 9-3-2.

Emily Thiel struck for the first two goals for the Tigers. Just 4:04 into the match, she scored from 18 yards out into the top corner of the goal. Mia White and Jessica Jones picked up assists. At 11:10, she scored her second of the afternoon, dribbling through the defense and scoring into an open net.

Monique Polanco made it 3-0 midway through the period - at 24:28 - when she pounced on a rebound. Thiel was credited with an assist.

RIT held a 16-5 advantage in shots, 8-2 in shots on goal, and a slim 6-5 lead in corner kicks.
