BALTIMORE – The University of Rochester field hockey team bounced back from its Saturday loss with a strong offensive showing in a 4-2 victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland at Johns Hopkins University on Sunday morning.

Claire Dickerson netted a hat trick for Rochester.
Olivia Denny had the fourth goal. She also assisted on Dickerson's opener.
Jennifer Lee, Colleen Maille, and
Nancy Bansbach also had assists. Rochester is 3-1 overall. St. Mary's is 1-3.

Rochester outshot St. Mary's 19-5, 10-3 in shots on goal. The Yellowjackets had 14 penalty corners to 2 for SMC.

In goal,
Gabrielle Cantley played the first half. She was not required to make a save and did not allow a goal.
Kate Kujawa played the second half with one save. She allowed two goals. Alyssa Thompson tended net for SMC. She made four saves and allowed four goals. St. Mary's also had two defensive saves.

Dickerson opened the scoring 7:29 into the match with Denny assisting. She made it 2-0 at 39:36 with Lee getting the assist. Denny struck for a 3-0 lead at 47:18 from Maille. Courney Mellon pulled a goal back for St. Mary's at 62:03. Dickerson netted her third of the afternoon – this one from Bansbach – at 63:48 before Sophia Macek scored for St. Mary's at 66:25 with Sydney Cline setting it up.

Rochester plays at SUNY Brockport on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets play three of their last four in September at Fauver Stadium – hosting SUNY New Paltz on September 16, SUNY Cortland on September 19, and Vassar on September 30. Rochester opens the Liberty League campaign on September 23 at William Smith.
