BROCKPORT, NY –
Jessica Brandon scored two goals – one in each half – and four other players added goals as Rochester defeated the College at Brockport, 6-0, at Special Olympics Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Yellowjackets improved to 4-1 overall. The Golden Eagles are 1-4. Rochester is ranked No. 16 in the latest poll issued by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Nancy Bansbach,
Courtney Dunham, and
Amanda Guido added single goals for Rochester. UR held a 28-1 shot advantage, 19-0 at halftime, and put 23 shots on goal. Goalies
Kiran Sundaram and
Gabrielle Cantley combined for the shutout. Sundaram logged the first 35 minutes (no shots, no saves). Cantley played the entire second half. She saved the only shot she faced.
Brockport's Sarah Beam made nine first half saves and 13 overall. She was replaced in the 60
th minute by Adriana DeDie who made two saves. Whitney Markwica made two defensive saves for Brockport – both in the last minute of the first half. She stopped Dickerson and Guido. Rochester led, 3-0, at intermission.
Dickerson netted the opener at 8:40, her fourth game-winning goal this year. It came right after Beam stopped a shot by
Maya Haigis. Bansbach and Brandon scored 91 seconds apart midway through the period to stretch the lead to 3-0, showing some nifty stickwork by tipping in shots from the outside into the cage. Brandon earned her first goal of the evening by finishing a penalty corner combination. Denny played it to Dunham who slid it to Brandon for the 3-0 edge at 16:43.
In the second half, a Denny PC went out to
Maya Haigis who send a cross pass to Dunham who lofted a shot over Beam's reach at 46:06. Brandon earned her second goal at 50:57 dribbling in from the left side and Guido completed the scoring at 52:54, sweeping in a deflected ball from eight yards out.
Rochester returns to Fauver Stadium on Saturday at 4 pm to face SUNY New Paltz. UR plays three of its next four at home: September 16 vs. New Paltz, September 19 vs. Cortland, September 23 at William Smith (Liberty League opener), September 30 vs. Vassar.
