HAMILTON, NY – Division I Colgate University proved too much to handle for the University of Rochester men's tennis team on Saturday afternoon at the Sanford Fieldhouse.

The Raiders (5-2) were 7-0 winners over Rochester (1-3), taking all three doubles matches before winning all six singles matches in straight sets.

UR's #1 doubles team of
Masaru Fujimaki and
Peter Huang were the toughest out in doubles, falling by a 7-5 score to Jacob Daugherty and Tyler Krantz. The #2 team of
Tanmay Thakkar and
Sahaj Somani fell 6-2 while the third pair of
Mattias Hartveit and
Jun Yuminaga were defeated by a 6-4 score.

In singles, Fujimaki took Daugherty to a tiebreak in the first set, ultimately falling 7-6 and then dropped the second set 6-2, as he was the most successful Yellowjacket in singles. At #2, Scott Bickel defeated Thakkar 6-3, 6-3 while Colgate's Noah Rosenblat won 6-0, 6-3 over
Yifan Shen.

Huang dropped a 6-0, 6-3 decision at #4 to Alec Dardis while Somani lost 8-4 to Peter Hartman at the #5 spot. Rounding out the lineup for UR was
Matt Resnikoff who was beaten 8-0 by Jack Ablon.

Rochester is back in action on Sunday afternoon, hosting Ithaca at 2 pm in the Goergen Athletic Center.
