Box Score 2 TROY, N.Y. – Maddie Provencher had two big three-run hits – one in each game – as RPI swept a doubleheader from the University of Rochester on Friday afternoon. RPI won the opener, 5-0, and took the nitecap, 6-5.

The Engineers improved to 15-7 overall, 5-1 in the Liberty League. Rochester is 7-12 overall, 0-2 in the UAA. The Yellowjackets are scheduled to play at Skidmore on Saturday. The game one start was moved up to 11 am in hopes of beating the inclement weather. RPI will play RIT Saturday. Skidmore and RIT split their twinbill Friday.

RPI rallied from a 5-4 deficit in the last two innings of game two. Rochester trailed, 4-2, then scored three in the top of the fifth. RPI tied it in the sixth - Provencher doubled, was bunted to third, and scored two batters later on a groundout by Veronica DeStefano. The winning run scored in the bottom of the seventh. Hannah Leahy who relieved Bourne.

Ironically, both of Provencher's three-RBI hits came in the same inning – the bottom of the third. She hit a three-run home run down the left field line in game one to give RPI a 4-0 lead. In the second game, RPI scored four times in the third, the last three coming on a bases-loaded double down the right field line by Provencher.

Game One:
Sarah Harms scattered eight hits over seven innings to pick up the complete game victory. She did not walk anyone in earning her 10
th win of the season.

Hannah Leahy took the loss for Rochester. In six innings, she gave up 11 hits, walked four, and hit two. She struck out two.

At the plate,
Alexis Pope and Leahy had two hits apiece. Down 1-0 after one, Rochester challenged in the second.
Gianna Melillo singled with one down. After a flyout, Leahy singled to right center with Melillo moving to third. Harms induced
Anne Marie Cortes to fly out to right.

RPI took that 1-0 first inning lead on three hits and one error. DeStefano singled and stole second. On Victoria Greco's bunt attempt, the ball was misplayed. DeStefano got to third but was thrown out trying to score. Two singles brought home a run with White getting the RBI.

In the RPI third, White doubled and after a strikeout, Leahy hit Steph Cavallaro. Provencher worked a full count, then hit the home run.

Game Two:
Jocelynn Blackshear hit a two-run HR in the top of the fifth – off Harms – to put Rochester ahead, 5-4. UR took a 1-0 lead in the second. Blackshear doubled and Melillo singled her to third. With
Harleigh Kaczegowicz at the plate, they ran a double steal with Blackshear scoring for a 1-0 lead.

RPI scored four in the third with Provencher's two-out double the big hit. That made it 4-1. UR got one back in the fourth. Blackshear drew a one-out walk off Jaime Cleasby. Melillo walked as well and
Bailyn Piecewicz ran for her. Kaczegowicz flied to center with the runners advancing one base.
Toni Anne Hahn's infield grounder was booted, allowing Blackshear to score UR's second run.

In the fifth,
Marissa Russo and
Sammi Re singled. Cleasby left with Harms relieving.
Lydia Petricca singled to score Russo. Re stopped at second. Pope flied to deep right. Re moved to third, but was thrown out at the plate. Blackshear hit the first pitch she saw from Harms over the left field fence for a 5-4 lead.

Harms returned to her game one form after that, though. She allowed only one hit in the next eight batters she faced. She got the win in relief.
