The Rochester-Union softball doubleheader on Saturday was halted after the first inning of game one due to consistent rain.It will not be made up. UR led, 5-0, after one inning, but the umpires ordered teams off the field with steady rain coming down and heavier cloudbursts moving in. When relief did not appear to be close, the game was listed as 'halted'.
 
It was the final regular season doubeheader for Rochester. Union was scheduled to play UR on Saturday and at Skidmore on Sunday. The Dutchwomen were battling for a Liberty League playoff berth. and secured it on Sunday with a split against Skidmore College. The split gave Union a 6-6 league record. Skidmore finished the LL season at 5-9. It wrapped up the fourth seed for Union.
 
The Liberty League championships will be hosted by top-seeded RPI (13-1). The Engineers split a DH vs. Union. Ithaca (11-3) will be the second seed and will play Rochester (8-4). Earlier this season, IC and UR split a doubleheader at Southside Field. Union, at 6-6, is the fourth seed. Game times for the double-elimination tournament will be announced early this week.
