Rochester improved to 6-0 overall with a pair of homecourt wins on Friday night in the opening matches of the UR Volleyball Invitational. The Yellowjackets defeated Medaille College, 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-15) and followed that with a 3-0 win over Utica College (25-10, 25-13, 25-16).

On Saturday, Rochester plays SUNY Poly at 11 am in the Palestra and follows that with a 3 pm match against St. John Fisher. In other Friday matches, Fisher defeated SUNY Poly, 3-0, and Nazareth defeated Wells, 3-0.

Allie DeRubertis had seven kills.
Clara Martinez and
Kate Korslund had six.
Elizabeth Thomas had three kills.
Beth Ghyzel registered 19 assists. The Yellowjackets compiled 11 aces with eight players getting one.
Sara Apanavicius had three and Ghyzel had two. Six others had one each.

Rochester hit .386 against Utica, taking command with a .571 percentage in game one. Martinez had seven kills, DeRubertis five, Shaw three. The Yellowjackets served 14 aces – four by
