CHICAGO – Rochester seized seventh place at the UAA volleyball championships on Saturday morning with a 3-0 victory over Brandeis University. The Yellowjackets took a 26-24 win in the first set, a 25-20 win in the second set, and a 25-12 win in the third set. Rochester won the first six points of the third set to take command early. The Yellowjackets finished 12-20.

The Yellowjackets hit a collective .340 for the three sets. Alie DeRubertis and
Beth Ghyzel with 13 kills apiece.
Megan McHugh added eight kills. Ghyzel added eight digs and three blocks. DeRubertis had two service aces and three assists.

As a team, Rochester had 10 service aces. The leaders were
Renae Lapins (three) and
Kiara Carrasquilla (three).
Sonia McGaffigan had two blocks and
Kaylin Williams had one. Lapins and
Isabelle Miranda were the setters. Pains had 19 assists to accompany seven digs. Mirabella had 13 assists.
Sara Apanavicius had 16 digs.
