SANTEE, CA – Rochester boosted its men's tennis record to 7-0 with a 6-3 victory against San Diego Christian College, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. UR is ranked #32 in Division III in the most recent poll. San Diego Christian's record slipped to 1-8.

The Yellowjackets claimed two wins by default - at #3 doubles and #6 singles.
Yifan Shen and
Tanmay Thakkar earned the default win at third doubles and
Peter Huang was the beneficiary at #6 singles.

Singles play started the action on Monday. After the default at sixth singles, Shen posted a 6-2, 6-2 win over Innocent Tidimane at #3 singles. Thakkar made it 3-0 UR with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Phillipp Gliesch at #4. Alonso Tellez pulled the hosts within 3-1 when he defeated
Masaru Fujimaki, 6-2, 6-1, at first singles.
Sahaj Somani earned the win, 6-2, 6-2, against German Ziella at #5 and
Runjia Fang had the clincher, but worked long for it, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-4), over David Samardzija.
SDC won first and second doubles to salvage the 6-3 final score. Tellez and Samardzija defeated Fujimaki and Fang, 8-3, at first doubles. Gliech and Ziella defeated Huang and
Matt Resnikoff, 8-3, at second doubles.

On Tuesday, Rochester will play Wheaton College of Massachusetts.
