PITTSFORD,N.Y. – Rochester ran its softball winning streak to seven in a row on Tuesday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of Nazareth College. The Yellowjackets outslugged the Golden Flyers, 11-6, in the opener. Rochester completed the back to back wins with a 5-1 victory in the nitecap.

With the two wins, Rochester evened its overall record at 10-10. Since returning from a pre-season trip to Georgia, Rochester has won seven in a row and nine of 11. Nazareth is 5-11.

Game One: Rochester 11, Nazareth 6
Elizabeth Bourne picked up her fourth win in game one (4-4). She scattered eight hits in seven innings, walked two, and fanned four. Bourne allowed three hits (no runs) in the first two innings. UR scored eight runs in the first three innings – one in the first, five (all unearned) in the second, and two more in the third to take an 8-0 lead. Nazareth rallied in its half of the third to score five runs but Rochester answered with three more in the top of the fourth to restore an 11-5 edge.

Alizah Ayon hit two more home runs in the opener, raising her season's total to eight. With two down in the first, she clouted one to left center field for a 1-0 lead. In the second, Bourne singled and was bunted to second. She moved to third with two down after a hit by
Sammi Re.

Harleigh Kaczegowicz hit an infield grounder that was booted. Bourne and Re scored.
Alexis Pope walked and Ayon followed with a booming home run to center field for a 6-0 lead. For her last two at-bats in game one, she did not see a hittable pitch. Nazareth issued two unintentional intentional walks, throwing eight straight outside the strike sone..

Bourne is 4-4 with the game one victory.
Re slapped a double down the left field line to score two in the third. In the fourth,
Toni Anne Hahn doubled Ayon to third. Bourne's grounder was booted, scoring Ayon.
Jessica Conforti singled in a run and a bounceout by
Rachael Pletz made it 11-5.

Bourne yielded a run in the fourth on an unusual double play. Singles by Janelle Walters and Mackenzie Kapp put runners at the corners. Marissa Tortora grounded to first. Ayon kicked the bag, then threw to Hahn for a tag of Kapp. Over the last three innings, Bourney stranded four Nazareth runners, two in scoring position.

Game Two: Rochester 5, Nazareth 1
The Yellowjackets did their scoring damage early and
Hannah Leahy was strong throughout in the circle. Leahy won her fourth straight decision with the complete game effort. She allowed five hits and four walks, stranding eight baserunners.

The most frustrating inning for the Golden Flyers was the fifth. UR led, 5-0. Nazareth's first three runners reached. Opposing pitcher Gabriella Corasaniti singled down the right field line. Allison Smith steered a single through the left side and Delaney St. George drew a full count walk.

Leahy got Walters – who had three hits in game one – to tap to third base.
Alexis Pope came home with it, forcing Corasaniti. Aubrin Smith popped up to Leahy and Tortora popped up to Conforti at second. These outs came one inning after Leahy stranded runners at second and third.

UR scored twice in the first. Ayon moved into the leadoff spot in hopes she wouldn't be walked every time. After her groundout to start the game.
Harleigh Kaczegowicz singled and stole second, Pope doubled her home, then scored on a double to left by
Lydia Petricca.

Ayon drew a leadoff walk in the third and Kaczegowicz followed with a two-run home run to left. Two batters later, Hahn singled and Leahy helped her own cause with an RBI double down the left field line.
