The Rochester men's tennis team completed one of two games in Ohio on Friday, as they were edged out in a 7-2 loss to Oberlin College on Friday.
The Yellowjackets (3-4) remained competitive in most singles matches against Oberlin (3-4), as four of them went to three sets.
The combination of
Yifan Shen and
Tanmay Thakkar in doubles play edged out Oberlin's Henry Bulkey and James Dill by a 8-5 margin. In dual matches, the duo improved to 4-1 on the season when they play together.
At the #3 spot in singles play, Shen continued his success in a competitive 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 win over Zachary Vaughn. The senior is currently tied for a team-high nine wins in singles play this season.
The Yellowjackets will look ahead as they take on Case Western Reserve University on Sunday at 2pm.
