PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The University of Rochester women's lacrosse team put together a dynamic full-field performance on Wednesday afternoon and it produced an 11-3 victory over Nazareth College at the Golden Flyers' Field.

Six players scored goals for the Yellowjackets and four of the six had more than one point.
Lucy Haggerty scored two goals and assisted on three others.
Clare Heffernan scored three goals.
Mary Panepento and
Emily Voss had two goals and one assist each.
Grace Crochiere and
Emma Little scored one goal.

Rochester is 2-0. The Yellowjackets grabbed a 16-4 win at D'Youville College earlier this month. UR opens its Liberty League season on March 27 and 28 in a home-and-home set with William Smith College. The Yellowjackets are home on Friday the 27
th and go to William Smith on Saturday, the 28
th. Nazareth is 1-2.

UR was strong defensively. The Yellowjackets did not concede many open looks at goal and when they converted from defense to offense, they were successful on 26 of 28 clears, including all 15 in the first half. The offense produced 20 shots on goal and allowed 12 to the host Flyers.

Haggerty figured in five goals.
Heffernan opened the scoring just 75 seconds into the match. She was awarded a free position shot. It was blocked, but the rebound came right back to her and she re-directed it past Katie Lawrence for a 1-0 lead. Nazareth equalized 10 minutes later through Emma Robinson.

Rochester broke the tie on a free position shot from Voss with just over four minutes left in the half. It was one of three such goals by Rochester. Haggerty connected in the last minute of the half for a 4-1 lead. Panepento scored seven minutes into the second half for a 5-1 lead.

The Yellowjackets were up, 2-1, when goalkeeper Carlie BenDavid got her stick up quickly and forced Emma States to shoot a free position shot over the bar. Half a minute later, Crochiere collected a pass from Haggerty and steered it past Lawrence for a 3-1 lead. Haggerty then made it 4-1.

Goals came in bunches in the second half. With UR ahead, 6-1 (courtesy of Haggerty's second goal of the match), Heffernan and Nazareth's Emily Paddock traded goals 80 seconds apart to leave the Yellowjackets up, 7-2. Haggerty then set up Little for an 8-2 edge and Heffernan completed her hat trick by converting another rebound. The goals were 30 seconds apart.

BenDavid made nine saves on 12 Nazareth shots on goal (17 overall). For Nazareth, Lawrence faced 20 shots at her cage (26 overall) and stopped nine of them.
