HENRIETTA, NY – Rochester erupted for 10 runs in the last two innings to bounce back for a 12-4 mercy rule softball victory over RIT on Saturday afternoon at RIT's Tiger Stadium. Game two of the doubleheader was postponed. It will be made up at a future date.
Leahy picked up her fifth straight victory.
Rochester is 15-4 overall, 11-0 in the Liberty League. RIT is 3-12 overall, 0-9 in the Liberty League.

The Yellowjackets collected 13 hits and five walks. Six of the hits went for extra bases – doubles by
Sammi Re,
Alexis Pope,
Jen Carson, and
Hunter Gilbreath.
Toni Anne Hahn and Gilbreath hit home runs.
Re knocked in three runs and scored two more. Gilbreath , Hahn, and Pope had two RBIs each. They also scored two runs apiece.
Marissa Russo scored three runs for UR.

Hannah Leahy picked up the complete game victory. Over five innings, she allowed nine hits and four earned runs. She did not walk a batter, hit two, and struck out one. It was her fifth straight decision. Torie Adler took the loss for RIT. She pitched into the fifth inning, allowing 11 hits, eight runs (seven earned) with four walks and one strikeout. Melissa Gould threw one winning, allowing four unearned runs, two hits, two hit batsman, and one walk.

With UR up, 1-0, RIT scored two runs in the second to take the lead – one on a hit batsman with the bases loaded, another on an RBI groundout with the bases still full. Rochester tied it in the third on
Alizah Ayon's RBI single.

Re doubled home two runs in the fourth, then came home on Hahn's home run to left. It put UR ahead to stay at 6-3. RIT made it 6-4 when the Tigers tried a delayed double steal. The back runner was thrown out at second while the lead runner just beat the relay throw home.

Madi Turner singled and
Alexis Klee came on to run. Gilbreath homered to left, scoring Klee. Russo scored an unearned run when Hahn's flyball was dropped. Hahn and Re both scored on Pope's double to center and Carson's double down the left field line scored Pope to complete the scoring.

Leahy faced second-and-third with no outs in the bottom of the fifth, then induced three straight groundouts, two as comebackers to her.
