Yelowjackets Post 6-0 Win Over Keuka College in Men's Soccer

BRIAN F. PRINCE ATHLETIC COMPLEX – It took about 40 minutes to break onto the scoreboard, but one the first one went in, that opened the doors.

Rochester posted a 6-0 men's soccer victory over Keuka College at Edwin Fauver Stadium on Saturday evening. The Yellowjackets improved to 2-0-1. Keuka is now 0-5.

Six individuals scored for Rochester. The only person who figured in multiple goals was Rio Kehe. He assisted on the second Rochester goal – scored in the 41st minute – and scored himself in the 61st minute. Nate Lazzara, Ottman Belhseine, Tony Hypsher, Santi Ponce Ocampo, and Charlie Shanks joined him on the goalscorers' list.

The Yellowjackets stayed with the long passing attack trying to spring men free to shoot. Keuka was able to fend off the offensive thrusts, but the Yellowjackets had a firm grip on possession.

Rochester broke it open with three goals in a span of six minutes around halftime. Six minutes after that, it was 4-0.

Lazzara opened the scoring by volleying inside the lower left portion of the goal from the edge of the penalty area at 39:20. Belhseine scored a minute later with the shot from the toughest angle. Tejan Borchers got the ball ahead to Kehe. He pushed it to Belhseine along the right endline. He dribbled forward as Keuka goalkeeper Corey Cangemi came towards the near post. Suddenly, Belhseine fired – and the ball got between Cangemi and the goalline, nestling in the far left corner.

One minute into the second half, Colin Canning went around the goalkeeper, crossed from the right side, and Hypsher pounced hitting the ball inside the low left corner. Andrew Moglianesi's shot rebounded to Ocampo who directed it into the net at 52:03. Will Eisold chipped a ball into the box from right wing and Kehe was there to head it into the lower left corner at 60:20. Charlie Shannks completed the scoring at 74:27. He got to a loose ball on the right side of the penalty area and drove it inside the left post.

Ryan Cacace earned the shutout for Rochester. He made one save. Cangemi registered eight saves. Rochester held a 28-6 advantage in shots, 14-1 in shots on goal.

Rochester will host RIT on Tuesday at 7 pm. Keuka will host Wells College on Wednesday at 7 pm.
