PITTSFORD, NY – The University of Rochester men's soccer team remained unbeaten on the season through eight matches after a 4-1 road victory over St. John Fisher College on Tuesday evening at SJFC's Growney Stadium.

Joe Anderson and
Tony Hypsher, with
Tommy Nelson,
Othman Belhseine and
Matt Cosentino each picking up assists.
The Cardinals avoided the shutout in the last minute, getting a goal off a header by Ryan Collins.
Rochester started quick in this one, scoring in the third minute when Shanks stole the ball from a defender deep in the Cardinals defensive zone and slipped a shot into the low left corner, past a diving Jason Schlierf in the SJFC goal.
A few minutes later, UR took multiple shots over a two-minute span and earned two corners, but the Cardinal defense stood tall, keeping the margin at one.
Rio Kehe had a header saved by Schlierf leading to a corner. On the ensuing corner,
Tejan Borchers had a shot sail high. A minute later,
Will Eisold had a chance that went over the bar.
St. John Fisher's Antonio Buonomo nearly evened the score in the 14th minute, but his attempt was swept off the line by Yellowjacket defender
Jayson Ho for a team save, leading to a Cardinal corner kick.
Moglianesi made it 2-0 UR at the 25-minute mark when he tapped in a low, hard cross from
Tommy Nelson along the left endline.
Late in the half, Anderson notched his first goal of the season when his shot from 20 yards out along the left wing ticked off the head of a Cardinal defender and dropped perfectly into the far corner of the net, making it 3-0 Yellowjackets.
The Cardinals forced a shot in the final minute of the half, but trailed going into the locker room 3-0 after UR's
Santino Lupica-Tondo made the save on Jackson Bishop.
Rochester's final goal of the game came on a strong play in the midfield and some crisp passing down at the Fisher end of the field. After a steal, Cosentino sent a ball up the left wing to Belhseine who headed a pass down to Hypsher at the edge of the box. The UR junior took the volley and rocketed a low shot to the bottom corner of the net.
St. John Fisher's tally in the final minute came off a set piece. Matt Gentile took the corner and set the ball into the box where Henry McDonald headed a pass over to Collins who found the net for his first score of the year.
Lupica-Tondo finished with two saves for the Yellowjackets, earning his fourth win of the year in goal. Schlierf ended with five saves in a losing effort for the Cardinals.
UR now turns its attention to UAA conference play which kicks off this weekend against Washignton-St. Louis. The Saturday men's game takes place at 1:30 pm, following the women's team doubleheader opener earlier in the day.
